Hey girl hey!
Today I have a lip product review for you guys and anything lip related has been something that I just hoard ever since I got into makeup. It’s to a point where I don’t even realize if I lose a certain product until I find it one day on the floor beside a furniture or in one of my handbags tucked away somewhere #girlproblem
So today’s main topic is none other than the NYX Whipped lip & cheek souffle! I don’t think this product was ever hyped or mentioned in the beauty community. I remember buying it because of its cute packaging and it was affordable, sooo… why not try it out right.
“Indulge your cravings with our Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé. Our two-in-one mousse can be used to precisely line lips and on the apples of your cheeks for a soft, natural flush. Achieve a delicious wash of color with a matte finish using this creamy and multipurpose formula”
Out of all the shades, I only see myself wearing 4 of ’em. So those are the ones that I got. They retail for SG$13 each at sephora.
Product comes in a small plastic bottle with an applicator attached to its plastic screw cap; very lightweight, handbag and travel friendly.
Application, Texture, Finish and Staying power
Application on the lips is very smooth and buttery. Other than coral-sicle, 1 dip into the bottle gives medium to full opacity. It has a very creamy texture and never really dries down, so be careful of transfers girls. Only coral-sicle and berry tea (slightly) settle into lip lines. These don’t last through meals, but they do stain your lips after awhile, especially molten love. Slight feathering to be expected without any lip liner.
For cheeks, Coral-sicle and cocoa bean (I used this as a contour/bronzer) can be applied straight from the bottle as you don’t have to worry about over pigmentation. However, berry tea and moltenlove are waaaay too pigmented to be applied directly. So I mixed them up with my foundation first before applying onto my cheeks using a beauty blender.
Applicator is triangularly shaped with a slight bend. Its sturdiness and pointy tip give me good control and precision during application. However, the product kind of builds up at the tip and I always need to scrape most of the excess off first.
I think this product is a good addition to your makeup collection, though not necessarily a must-have. I give it an 8.5 because there’s nothing really wrong with it. Its flaws are something that I can work with. For example, I can just dab my lips with my finger to prevent the product from settling in my lip lines or I can always use a lip liner underneath to extend the staying power and prevent feathering. Also, I’m generally pretty careful when I have any lip products on so I don’t tend to have any transfers anywhere.
Would I ever re-purchase: YES only if I feel the need to have that color again. I don’t really re-purchase lip products other than my staple ones cos I’m a lip junkie! and a lip junkie wants to have as many different products as possible!!
That’s it to this review and thank you for reading! I hope this was helpful and informative enough to pique your interests in this product! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any specific product you want reviewed. I would gladly do so : ) Other than that, stay tuned for my next post!
