Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! : D
I’ve been looking for a foundation/bb cream that applies quickly, is hassle free, affordable and has decent coverage but still gives me a natural finish for me to wear on a daily basis. I actually have a few bb cushions already (Laneige, Sulwhasoo, Iope, Ysl) but unfortunately none of them (except Ysl) work well on my skin (but I haven’t given up on them yet! still trying to make them work). After looking around for some time, I decided to give ETUDE HOUSE ANY CUSHION CREAM FILTER a shot.
“The cream filter cushion expresses delicate cream radiance with its triple filtering effect”
Comes in 5 shades: Beige, petal, sand, tan and vanilla. It has an SPF of 33 PA++ and retails for sgd32.
Unfortunately, you only get 14g/0.49oz of product and the usual amount for a bottle of high-end foundation is ~1oz. So, honestly I don’t think this product is affordable whatsoever cos it won’t last you a long time.
Instead of a sponge soaked in liquid foundation/bb cream, what you’ll see is a piece of mesh fabric and underneath is the foundation in a cream form.
I’m wearing Marc Jacob’s primer on the right side and on the left, I’m keeping it bare. Not even moisturizer or sunscreen.
I think this is one of those foundations where no primer is needed. No primer side looks smoother and more skin like.
Whereas on the primed side, the foundation doesn’t settle smoothly on my nose. It’s more difficult for the foundation to cling onto my skin with uneven texture. This product is not very dewy and just like its claim, it provides a delicate radiance to my skin.
I finished up my face with a light dusting of powder, bronzer and some blush and by the time I finished everything else, the time was slightly over 12pm.
No white cast detected.
This shade seems to be just a bit too light for me but 1 shade darker is definitely too dark. It has a slight pink undertone to it which gives me the ‘brightening’ effect that you usually get from Korean makeup.
It was a hot day when I was testing out this product. So I was sweating every now and then. By the end of the day, I looked really shiny especially on my nose. Surprisingly though, my skin looked pretty good. The foundation stayed on quite well despite how sweaty and oily I got. However, you can totally see a little bit of redness peeking through, my blackheads on my nose and the foundation on my acne scar seemed to have faded as well.
I decided to dye my hair at home a few hours into this review, so I actually got water on my face while washing my hair upside down. But it didn’t seem to disrupt the foundation at all.
I blotted off the oil all over my face first before touching up. I honestly never touch up my face just because I don’t like the feeling of putting anything on it when it’s not freshly washed. But, for the sake of this review, I did! and the result is surprisingly good. My skin looked just like how it was in the morning. It wasn’t difficult to reapply the foundation and I didn’t look cakey or patchy at all. Here you can see how pink this shade is on me.
- Quick to apply.
- Light to medium coverage.
- Natural glow.
- Doesn’t accentuate or settle into pores.
- Easy to touch up on the go.
- Has fragrance (for those who are sensitive to fragrance).
- Sticky AF! (Everything sticks to my face! Eyebrow hair, lashes, brush bristles) So annoying.
- Product turns white-ish when you’re sweating on your upper lip, immediately after application.
- Not great for oily skin (unless you’re willing to touch up on the go).
- Only 14g (0.49 oz) of product.
- Shade range is very limited.
Would I ever re-purchase: Not really. It’s one of those products that you easily forget, IMO.
That’s it to this review and thank you for reading! I’m planning to review an Indonesian lip product soon, so stay tuned for that! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any specific product you want reviewed. I would gladly do so 🙂 See ya guys next time!
